Troubleshooting EmailVoyager problems

EmailVoyager relies on PocoMail PE to perform its functions, so if you are having a software-related problem please visit PocoMail PE support pages as well.

EmailVoyager uses solid-state memory and is very robust in design. As such, there is very little that can go wrong with it. If you are experiencing problems mounting EmailVoyager in Windows and having it show up in My Computer try the following tips:

  • Windows can get confused about what USB devices have been recognized and installed; the first thing to try is to unplug the drive then plug it into a different USB port.
  • If that does not help, you can try unplugging other USB devices (except for the keyboard and the mouse) then plug in EmailVoyager to see if there is a conflict with one of those devices.
  • In rare cases, you may need to go to Device Manager (available under System Control Panel) and actually remove the external USB devices listed there after unplugging them, restart your computer then reconnect all. Windows should detect them again and also recognize your EmailVoyager.

Keep in mind that you always need to stop removable drives before unplugging them - click on the icon with green arrow next to the Windows clock in the system tray, with tooltip Safely Remove Hardware, then stop your EmailVoyager before unplugging it. If Windows warns you that it cannot stop the device it most likely means that you have left a window open, or PocoMail PE is still running; you will need to close those before being able to unmount the device.
