Poco Filter FAQ - Junk mail filters

Q:I am receiving a lot of spam, how can I configure Poco to filter out this junk by a certain word in the subject line? For example, I have been getting quite a few viagra ads.

Note: The techniques described below will still work, however Poco 2.5's new Junk Mail Filtering provides superior capabilities.

A simple filter will take care of this.

  1. Open the "Filters" window by pressing F4.
  2. Press the "Incoming" tab at the top of the window.
  3. Press the "New filter" button.
  4. Select "Subject" as the "Search".
  5. Enter the word or phrase you want to filter on in the "for" box.
  6. Leave the "Match only if not found" and "Case sensitive match" boxes unchecked.
  7. Leave the "Perform" action as "move messages to".
  8. Select "Trash" as the destination mailbox.
